All I can say is when being a scientist goes wrong... All we doing is feeling the effects seeing it etc but who knows maybe nothing is happening or will not. When you ask someone do you know what your doing fa real and they tell you ummm it... should turn out ok by my calculations there's no off switch lol anyway fun stuff to know what is happening right now though.

They slam protons into each other which is not an energy field, it is matter!
Einstiens theory of relativity states that any matter compressed greatly enough will collapse into a black hole.
On 23 and 25 October 2009, beams of protons and of lead ions were injected into the LHC ring, and guided through two of the eight sectors.
CERN plans to start circulating a beam around the 27km-long underground tunnel in November 2009.
The beams were injected at 450 billion electron volts. The aim of CERN (once the beam is circulating) is to accelerate it up to 3.5 trillion electron volts.
Geneva, 30 November 2009. Large Hadron Collider accelerated its twin beams of protons to an energy of 1.18 trillion electron volts in the early hours of the morning. This exceeds the previous world record of 0.98 trillion electron volts, which had been held by the US Fermi National Accelerator Laboratorys Tevatron collider since 2001.
Dangerous collisions of 7 trillion electron volts (3.5 TeV per beam) that may create unpredictable anomalies are scheduled for the first quarter of 2010.
This could happen but maybe not ok eh..
